I’ve always been intrigued by the cover and the concept of this book since I randomly found it on my audiobook app but had never heard about it so I was not sure what to expect.
In the end I have mixed feelings about it.
On one side it was a lot of fun, the writing was mostly good (though it felt a bit unpolished in some places, especially on descriptions and some details of the logistic of a scene: for example once two characters were walking away from the rest but it's not clear how they were still able to talk to the people they were walking away from) and there were also some interesting theme explored like how powerful people abuse their power on their subordinates, consequences of major changes on the environment and others.
On the other side I was annoyed by some elements that cheapened the story in the end for me. The love story on the sunshine side felt too abrupt and cheesy once they got together and, most notably, the final conflict resolution was anticlimactic and too easy and not entirely clear on how it happened. There were also not many explanations on the main point of the story which is finding out how the world broke and why. In the end they change something (though not everything is fixed) but we know not much more than what we figured out around 50%.
The most interesting part for me was the development of Odessa which was abruptly changed right at the end with one sentence and this is the thing that kind of ruined the book for me.
In the end I feel like all of the nice development was cheapened by the ending which was too easy, did not have a clear logic and also required close to 0 consequences from the main characters.
I'm sad because up to the end I was really enjoying it but after this ending I will not risk continuing the series and finding another bad ending.

The Never Tilting World
⭐️⭐️⭐️

This book made me feal really stupid swlsjosfeqofn-
First off, I was so confused at the beginning. I just did not care about what I was reading, which of course made me read the whole book while not really knowing what was going on. It did get better the more I read, but new information kept being thrown at me and I could just not handle it. Surprisingly, I managed to finish reading this book. The world building and the characters were solid, but I was just too out of it to comprehend everything. I also had a hard time picturing things, which of course made it less interesting to read. Arjun´s personality was the only thing that kept me going to be honest, and I am still unsure if I will pick up the second and final book.
