“Because it’s easy to fall in love, Ben. The hard part comes when you want out.”

While it was a quick read, the story was not well written. The plot was all over the place.

While this book was definitely interesting, it was definitely my least favorite Colleen Hoover book by far. While, the premise was good, I’m not sure it was played out in the best way. It made no sense to me that they kept staying about because they “needed to work on their goals.” Like that is one of the suckiest excuses ever. If I found a person that made me feel the way they felt about each other, I would do everything in my power to be with them. They were both good for each other, so if anything they would have pushed each other closer to their goals. The whole excuse about the book was annoying, like the book was supposed to be loosely based off of their story, so even if they only followed through with 3 years of the plan, he could just have made the rest up?

This was incredibly stupid. There are so many flaws with this book. Ultimately, Ben was the biggest red flag of them all. Despite it being incredibly clear from the very beginning that he had been the one who had started the fire, he was an entitled asshole. From the panties situation to the “I’ll pay for dinner so that I get to choose what to look at” (let her put on whatever damn dress she wants to wear, you just met her at an extremely vulnerable time). I’m not sure at what point or what Fallon feel for, but it was probably due to her melodramatic attitude that states a guy has never been interested in her. Also, why couldn’t they just be together? Why can’t you work towards your goals, while also trying to see if you work together? Red flag 152 of Ben’s was that he immediately got with his sister in law after his brother died. You can be a caring brother and supportive uncle, without being in a romantic relationship with her, again when she is most vulnerable! I don’t know why this irked me so much, but Fallon’s mom coming in to support her and then reading an ENTIRE novel that was in Fallon’s mail (illegal?) that she is clearly so distraught over, to then persuade her to go get him back?!?! Ugh.

I didn't really like Ben but I enjoyed the book and how Colleen unfolded the story.
