Finally. Idk what it is about these books but they have an absolute chokehold on me, and after binging the first 8 in a matter of 2 weeks, it had been killing me waiting on this one. Let me tell you: it did not disappoint. The slow burn between Nera and her demon, the tension, the little touches, it was all perfect. Kai was remarkably endearing, which I did not expect after his little glimpses in previous books. And I loved how Nera just knew him. He couldn’t keep a single secret from her even if he tried. 

The only reason this wasn’t a 5 star for me is because it does contain my least favorite trope. It didn’t derail the plot too much for me, but it’s just my personal preference to not come across

the accidental pregnancy trope
