It pains me to rate a Sanderson book so low. It wasn't by any means bad. I just didn't find the story to be particularly engaging. The book is physically beautiful with wonderful art. And Sanderson does a great job with character and world building. One character's actions actually made me sick to my stomach. So any time a book can evoke that kind of emotion; that's the good stuff. But I never found myself excited to find out what happens in the next chapter.

This was a hilarious and light story to read. I enjoyed the characters and the world building with the guidebook sprinkled throughout the book. I wish there was more!

This book isn't anything particular special. Technically, it's not Sanderson's strongest work, though it is still far from his worst, and it being Sanderson, that means it's still really strong. But there's also a fun to this novel, a sense of humor and a shocking sense of sincerity that makes this book really, really fun to read. I started off reading it today slowly, and feeling like it was a chore, and found myself sprinting through the book, eager to see how this story and these characters would all shape up, and it was an amazing book. 4.5/5 stars would be my rating for this book.
