Satisfying conclusion to the Axiom series which is a space opera about Captain Callie Machedo and the crew of her ship, White Raven, who battle ancient aliens.

Thrilling story, great plot and characters that keep you guessing right til the end. Great for fans of this genre. Really enjoyable.

The first book in the series was very good, the second one, not quite so much. But this third book once again returned to the exciting derring-do, humor, and cosmological threats of the first book, with the great feature of wrapping up some threads left dangling from the earlier books. A super-satisfying ending to the trilogy (according to the author, he's satisfied, too), but I sincerely hope there are more stories to come. Yes, we got some resolutions in this book, and they were satisfying, for sure, but there's plenty that can go wrong before the final baddie is vanquished, even when a plan is in place. Maybe especially so. Also, there are a few *new* threads that can be followed...

Book 3 of the Axiom series. I liked the previous two books, so it came as no surprise I liked this one as well.
In this story Callie and her team take on another still active Axiom cult and lots of destruction happens. Everything that there was to love in the first two books is here again as well: lovable characters, witty banter, action and explosives and inclusive politics.

My only complaint is that everything went a little bit to well in this book. I feel that wrapping up all the story lines and story beads from the previous books went a bit to neat. I would not have minded to have one more book because I have to admit the ending felt a little bit rushed.

Crew travels to the lost human colony system after a tip from a mysterious benefactor. The system had been taken over by Liars performing biological experiments on humans to save their axiom masters from a plague killing them. Callie kills all the Liars and axiom. She liberates the humans and reopens the gate. The benefactor turns out to be an axiom also and kills Ashrok to get a key which he wants to use to restart the universe and rule over it. He is killed and Ashrok is resurrected as an AI
