Ahhh this book! The best one of the series! It had me going from laughing to crying and smiling throughout it all! The last 7 or 8 chapters just had me so emotional. Ugh love love love this series!! Can't wait to read more books from laura thalassa!

THIS IS MY FAVORITE BOOK SERIES. I loved Every. Single. One. The enemies to lovers, the forced proximity, the moral dilemma, THE TWIST, & the ending!! I do wish we had more interactions with the wives & horsemen together, but still a stellar book & series.

Tropes/Themes:
-MF paranormal apocalyptic romance
-Enemies to lovers (literally inflicting bodily harm on each other since neither of them can die)
-Fated mates
-Captor/captive
-Possessive alpha hero
-Slow burn
-Dual POV (primarily from heroine’s POV)
-Book #4 in an interconnected series

This series has had a lot of ups and downs for me, but I felt like this was a solid and fitting conclusion. Just like the previous books, my biggest issues were the repetitive conflict between the couples (“I love him but he’s literally annihilating humanity and doesn’t want to stop but I’m going to change him”), and the heroines having major instalove for literal mass murders. Besides those issues, it was fun getting to see the characters all on page at the same time and seeing them finally get their HEAs. I’m bummed I didn’t enjoy this series as much as everyone else does, but it was still a good time.

CWs for graphic violence, murder, death, body horror, blood and gore, loss of multiple loved ones

Story: 3/5
Audiobook: 4/5 (narrated by Susannah Jones & Jay Ben Markson)
Length 15h30min
