Thank you Just Read Tours and Patricia Lee for the copy of the book!

I haven't read the first two books in this series, but now after reading this book, I want to go back and do so. This is such a beautiful story, confronting so many tough subjects (death of a spouse and parent, relocation, secrets, sickness, etc) yet the flow and the characters told the story perfectly.

As a former teacher, I loved the way that Claire connected to the children. I was once told I cared too much about my student and not enough about their test scores...and I feel like Claire would be the same way. She did so much to help these children, above and beyond what a teacher/counselor is expected to do. But...that's what separates the good teachers from the truly great, isn't it?

I also enjoyed the descriptions of Oregon, and I would love to go visit there now! The research about the NOAA was impressive.

This book is going to stick with me for a long time...
