I enjoyed this book at the end, that is why I rated 4 stars, but the beginning and the middle of the book were just either boring or very mediocre. The ending however was my favourite part. I will say that I liked Once upon a wardrobe better than becoming Mrs. Lewis. This book was lovely on showing their relationship and how they came together as a couple and how they came together as friends. For this book I was mostly listening to the audiobook, there were a couple of quotes that I wish I could have highlighted, but since I was listening to the audiobook I missed my opportunity. I love the Narnia movies, but I have yet to read the books. The ex- husband was my least favorite character as he should be.

An absolutely stunning book of conversion and love. It was really really very good. I love so much the truth of the gospel all through the pages. There is so much truth there

I received an ARC of this book through NetGalley- thank you!
I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this book. Patti Callahan Henry weaves the story of Joy Davidman and C.S. Lewis in a way that's both interesting and relatable. I liked the way she portrayed Joy, and I really liked learning more about how their friendship and then relationship formed.

I wish I could give this book more than 5 stars. It was fantastic. I will definitely read it again.

Honestly, I tried really hard to enjoy this book as I’m a big fan of her other work (Surviving Savannah, Flora Lea) and thought this would be a clear winner, but it just wasn’t for me.
