Asher (H), large animal vet and owner of the Mustang Refuge, is surprised when Jenna (h) shows up to let him know that she’s pregnant with their child. The pair shared one night together after a night of drinks and she was gone when he awoke in the morning, but Rubys ‘Mustang Mountain Man of the Month’ let Jenna know where she could find Asher. He’s sweet, romantic, protective, and caring toward Jenna and when circumstances arise, he invites her to share his mountain home. Things quickly heat up between the two even as Jenna struggles to accept that Asher will be there for her and their child. Sweet mountain man. Curvy girl romance with a little bit of relationship angst.

A fast paced, surprise pregnancy romance. Asher and Jenna also had a serious case of instalove.

Asher bent over backwards to take care of any actual and/or potential problem Jenna had because of the pregnancy. He did it with complete kindness and respect.

Not only did Asher go above and beyond, but all of his friends did as well. I liked the sense of friendship, family, and support between the mountain men and their significant others.

A serious lack of communication occurred all on Jenna's part. Her reaction was a huge turn off for me in regards to Jenna's character. It changed the feeling of the book for me.

Asher and Jenna did get their HEA. It did start out and end as a sweet romance.

This quick read was super cute and steamy. When Asher is the next guy that is placed online by the town matchmaker, he can’t help but shake his head at her antics, but what he isn’t expecting is for it to turn his world upside down. One night a while ago he had the best night and connection with this woman who disappeared the next morning and Asher never really got over her until she shows up on his door with some news. Jenna saw Asher online and knew this was her chance to make things right without expecting anything from him. As these two try to figure out ways to make things work, they are both filled with apprehension but mostly an undeniable attraction that they can’t fight, but will it all work out in the end or leave both heartbroken? This was such a cute and fun read; I love this series so much.

This was a great surprise pregnancy romance. It was a short story with a good flow. I really liked the storyline, it didn’t have a ton of drama only some mild conflict. Jenna and Asher had great chemistry and we got to have a bit of steam. I enjoyed it.

Jenna and Asher have a one night stand and Jenna becomes pregnant. Four months later she discovers who Asher is and goes to tell him she is expecting. Asher is ecstatic and wants to do everything he can. Jenna had a bad childhood with a father who constantly disappointed her and never came to any of her events. So Jenna doesn’t really trust Asher to be a good dad. Great novella I loved the idea that she found out she was pregnant and decided to tell the father and not keep it a secret.

Healing into town Asher comes face to face with the April ad that Ruby the mayor's wife has posted. Having seen her matchmaking skills, if you can call them that, work on three of his friends he shouldn’t be surprised to find himself at the centre of April’s campaign. Thankfully he doesn’t have much time to dwell on it as he is called out to a wild horse that has been hit by a tourist car. Although the big surprise of the day comes as a visitor arrives at his rescue centre.

Preparing for a move to Billings following a promotion Jenna knows that there is something important that she needs to do before she does. Heading over to Mustang Mountain she needs to tell Asher the man she met on her sister’s bachelorette party that she is carrying his baby. Prepared to do this without his support she wants to be able to tell her child that she did all she could to tell their father about them. Seeing him again brings back all the memories from their night together.

Asher looked for Jenna after their one night together but was unsuccessful. Seeing her in his clinic, pregnant he is somewhat taken aback but is still pleased to see her. Expressing how he wishes to be part of the baby’s life and makes plans for doctor visits etc. Jenna is wary that Asher will let her down and their baby but as they grow closer and she moves into his home as her house sale goes through quicker than planned she has high hopes for him. Missing an important appointment Jenna decides she can’t risk things and puts much-needed distance between them, but will she let him explain?.

Thanks to Booksprout for a copy of this book.

This was an interesting take on the surprise pregnancy trope I love so much. I enjoyed the characters' interactions and dialogues, especially with their friend group. My favorite part was the guys helping Jenna move into Asher's house.

I'm looking forward to reading the next book in the series.
