I devoured FORBIDDEN FANTASIES and loved it so much, mostly because Jess and Alex were such great characters. I haven't read many romances with already married couples so this was a breath of fresh air for me. Jess and Alex have been together for 15 years but Jess's upbringing has strongly affected how she views sexual desires so when an erotic romance book starts to give her ideas she's afraid to express those fantasies to her husband. I really enjoyed reading about Jess's self discovery. She has a lot of conflicted feelings over what she wants but once Alex understands what's going on he's completely on board for whatever Jess is looking for.

Alex was downright dreamy and I loved his support of Jess and his willingness to try some new things; in fact he's had some of his own fantasies he wants to try. Both Alex and Jess were just really genuine characters that you can't help but fall in love with.

Favorite Quotes:

Only, how did you ask the man you’ve been married to for fifteen years for things like that? Excuse me, honey. Would you tie me up and blindfold me? Oh, and whip me with this flogger, too, if you don’t mind.

“Where the hell did you learn that trick with the hair band?” Still breathing hard from the force of the best orgasm he’d ever had, he rolled onto his back, pulling her with him so she was lying on top of him.

“Where do you think?” Her voice was both shaky and seductive at the same time. She kissed him tenderly, then lay her head on his chest. “I read it in a book.”

“Worth. Every. Fucking. Penny.” Her hesitant but honest admission made him feel like king of the world. “Remind me to get you a big gift card to the bookstore to stock up on more.”

I had almost given up on finding fully developed characters in erotic romance until I read this book. The sex is hot, the plot is dramatic, and the characters are fully fleshed (no pun intended). The crisis that this couple is facing in their marriage feels real: the wife confused about her "dirty" fantasies, pulling away from her husband, afraid he'll reject her if he learns the truth; and the husband jumping to all the wrong conclusions about why his wife is so distant. I love character driven stories, even in erotic romance, so I'm looking forward to the next book by Jodie Griffin!

Sweet and sensual with a touch of BDSM.

A good short story of spicing up the bedroom life of a married couple. Jess discovers a not so vanilla side of sex through reading. She begins to have fantasies of the rougher side of sex while making love to her husband, Alex. Nothing to bad there until a night of mind blowing sex, she is guilt ridden about the fantasies she has been lusting after.

Alex begins to think the worst. After fifteen years of marriage and having two kids, their life has been good. He can't figure out what is bothering her but the cop in him has to know. He gets to the bottom of the issue but its not at all what he had thought.

Jess and Alex are a great couple. I really enjoyed the dual points of view. Getting to see the story from both sides was a nice touch. The love scenes are intimate and hot as hell. Grab a fan, they are quite sexy. A nice beginning for the Bondage and Breakfast series.

4.5 Stars. Forbidden Fantasies is an engaging read that has appealing characters, a great deal of depth and a unique storyline. Jodie Griffin beautifully explores how erotic romance can be used to spice up a predictable sex life. In Forbidden Fantasies, debut author Jodie Griffin introduces a happily married couple with two children. Let’s face it, after fifteen years of marriage and two children, no matter how much you love each other, romance can sometimes become predictable. It’s not that the love and passion have worn away; it’s more – “do we have the energy or time to make it happen?” Add to that a woman who was raised in a puritanical household and you have the makings of a conventional marriage bed.

In the great debate between being honest with yourself and your partner versus maintaining the status quo and not rocking the both, Ms. Griffin gives us a window into the world of Jessica Meyers. Jessica has a wonderful and loving partner in her husband Alex. They are devoted to each other, and in erotic romance it’s exciting to read about a stable and loving married couple whose love and affection for one another is so beautifully written.

Jessica is a good wife and mother with a happy life but when she reads her first erotic romance and discovers a world outside of ‘vanilla sex’ her desires and sexual fantasies are ignited. Reading erotic romances inspires Jessica to want more from her relationship with Alex, but her prim and proper upbringing makes it hard for her to express those feelings to her husband. How does one go about asking their partner to experiment and try new things after fifteen years of marriage? Even when you have a solid relationship it’s hard to ask for things that are perceived as daring or even a little bit naughty.

Luckily for Jessica Alex is the kind of husband we all wish for. His love and commitment to her is paramount and his willingness to give Jessica what she needs makes him undeniably attractive and sexy. Ms. Griffin hits all the right notes with Alex. His steadfast commitment to his wife, family and career are only part of who he is. He’s also a man in love and has the wisdom that comes from really knowing his lover, and that wisdom gives him the ability to give Jessica what she wants without making her wrong for wanting it.

Ms. Griffin’s book is the rare combination of the erotic and the sweet. The sex between Alex and Jessica is enhanced by the romance and love between them. Watching Jessica take the first tentative steps toward communicating her forbidden fantasies and then having Alex reach out and support Jessica’s need for exploration is not only sexy but also extremely romantic. After all, what’s sexier than jumping off the cliff and exploring new territory with someone you love?
