Christine and Eric were annoying. The ending made me mad. I feel like the story was held back by the source material making it slow, predictable and frustrating. Neither character changed or grew from their lessons. Ugh

I absolutely loved this book!! It's not very often that I find a book that as soon as I finish it, I could start reading it again. I've always loved Phantom of the Opera (movie), but I think I love Kathryn's adaptation of the play/movie better! I love the ending for Erik sooo much better! I think one of the things I enjoyed most was the change to Christines profession (being a fellow musician myself). I honestly loved everything about this book, the modern world building was spot on, and I thought the character development was great, especially for Christine. I also very much enjoyed Baltimore lol. I am so very sad that the story is over, but I will definitely be reading this book many more times! The Forgotten Phantom is a definite must read!

This was a melodramatic but surprisingly fun twist on the Phantom of the Opera. Note that this book contains spice, Erik remains a bundle of red flags, and mind the trigger warnings.

Eep my creepy little emo heart that has always secretly preferred the Phantom and all his murderous melodrama, loved this. Was it perfect? No. But did i need a story where the Phantom gets a second chance at love? Yes, and this provided, particularly in the characterisation of Erik - i loved his chapters and how unapologetically brutal he is at wanting to hold onto something that he loves after a life and then a death of being deprived it. But then there is also his tenderness and pain and surprising humour. Bravissimo.

It definitely scratches the itch of wanting a romance with the Phantom...
Thought the ending was a little sudden.

My Favorite Phantom Retelling

Gods this was good. So good. It’s so spooky and perfect for this time of year and I just adored it. Within 30 pages I was incredibly invested.

I love this version of Christine. We see her grow so much and become such a brave, impossibly strong woman.

Even if he is just a side character, I adore Baltimore the most. Grouchy older men that adopt wayward children and take them under their wing. Lots of Bobby from Supernatural vibes.

Just a reminder that the Phantom isn’t a “good guy”, he does horrific things. He’s a very selfish being and even I had a hard time stomaching some of his choices.

Well done. The first book I’ve read from this author and I am so excited to read her next Creature Feature!
