This is an average continuation to an average series, and that’s just about as nice as I can get.

I still have the same complaints about the poor writing style, the world, and such. And I’ll add one more in: these flashbacks haven’t added anything to the story. they’re just rehashing old information by giving you old memories. I skim them at best, often only reading a sentence or two each page and I’m still able to know what’s going on. And the flashbacks feel so disjointed from the actual story, too. MC rarely thinks on old memories, making the flashbacks seem like padding to make the books longer.

In my opinion, this is slightly better than the first book. There is more character development.
