Margaret Peterson Haddix has quickly become one of my new favorite authors. She adds interesting notes of paranormal/fantasy/sci-fi in her stories. She's a great storyteller with characters that draw you in.
Another enjoyable quick read by Haddix. Haddix has such original plots and this novel is no exception. I also appreciated the underlying message of this book--the importance of caring more about others than yourself, of having empathy and compassion. Good stuff!
Maybe it will get kids to read Thoreau.

didnt know what to expect when i picked this one up to read, seemed like it would be kind of a strange plot, but it turned out to be a riviting tale that deffinately keeps you guessing
