Lots of fun, with a great narrator in the audio edition, and a lovely slow burn romance. Will look forward to the second one!

I don’t understand her penury when she’s…a millionaire. The money doesn’t go to her relatives, it goes to her and her daughter. Did this author bother to research anything at all before writing?
Or research about titles? No…younger sons of an Earl are NOT ‘Mr.’ (seriously? A Google search too much trouble?) but titled ‘Honourable’ or ‘The Hon.’.
Sorry but…no brother in law can could even try and claim that money. NO court in Britain would freeze a widowed countess’ account because someone claimed her money.

This was a light, fun historical mystery. Part of the resolution of the mystery was obvious, but the main reveal genuinely surprised me.

This is not a book that will land on my favorites of the year, but I would certainly be interested in reading more in the series when I need a diversion.
