Overall, this book was a really enjoyable read. It was a little slow in the middle of the story but the more I read it, the more I really enjoyed it. The ending really was wonderful. If you’re looking for a simple, happy, feel-good book, give this one a try

A great holiday read from Sheila Roberts. This one took me a little longer to get into than other books by Roberts, however, she creates characters that you have to fall in love with. This one was a little predictable, but was still enjoyable.

This was my most favorite of Sheila Roberts' series. Quite simply, I so closely identified with the characters. The book mostly revolves around three women: Tilda, Maddy and Ivy. Maddy and Ivy are both parents, and Ivy, in particular, is a mama to two young children. The characters, because of this, were so relatable to me and their situations made me LOL in the realness of it all.

If you are a mama looking for some inspiration on how to truly have the perfect Christmas (and the how and why of that just might surprise you), definitely check out this book. A perfect read to get me in the Christmas spirit!

I enjoy not having to be so formal in reviews when I'm not doing them for an ARC.

I was just expecting a light, cute story going into this one, so I wasn't completely off base with my expectations. I just didn't enjoy the story that much.

The adults were kind but had inner dialect that was a bit irritating. One was literally thinking about her underwear half the time, another one had a habit of internally singing Christmas songs that she had changed the lyrics to.

The kids in the book were kind of bratty too.

It also seemed like the women in the book were blamed for anything that went wrong. One had an ex husband that left her and she felt guilty thinking she's pushed him away, when he wanted her back she felt bad because her daughter was constantly asking her to let her daddy come home.

I noticed after the fact that this book is the 8th in a series. I imagine this book would be more enjoyable to someone who knows the characters better.

I liked Devon Black and I thought their decorations sounded cute. But I just couldn't get into this one otherwise.

I look forward to the new Christmas story author Sheila Roberts puts out every year in her Life in Icicle Falls series. I never know what emotional adventure awaits the characters, but I know that it will be nothing short of pure heartfelt Holiday entertainment.

‘Such a magical place she and her neighbors had made. And yet she’d spent so much time focusing on the outside that the inside, where true Christmas happened, she’d let the magic die.’

We had three very fun women to follow this year, Maddy, Ivy and Tilda, all dealing with the demise of their perfect Christmas. I think what struck me most throughout their trials and tribulations is that (even with the help of Muriel Sterling’s newest helpful book) there was a consensus by the ending that perfection should be thrown out the window.

Sheila Roberts creates an entertaining and amusing tale at Christmas time in Icicle Falls, a beautiful little mountain town in the Pacific Northwest. This latest installment in the Icicle Falls series is a great update on all our favorite characters from this picturesque and quaint little town. Tilda, the town's female police officer, has a chance at real love! One thing I love about this series is Sheila's ability to create believable characters, and they're all so diverse! There are characters of every age, from teens through seniors, which makes the book more appealing to readers of all ages. And who doesn't love a holiday book? It'll be hard to wait for the next one in the series. Sheila is a gifted and talented storyteller!
