More fabulous storytelling from DW. Had us howling on a long car journey. My children, 10 and 9 totally get the messages and adore the humour. Only one to go (boo hop) until we are all run out of these wonderful books.

I'm a big fan of David Walliams work. I adore how well he creates hilarious stories that always include social messages. Billionaire Boy, Joe Spud, who is the gazillionaire main character, wants something for his birthday that his dad will find challenging: a friend. The story drives the reader into an extremely funny way to the perception that rich and not so rich people have on money.

I enjoyed the book a lot, but as many kids say, it is not as good as most of his other books. Mr Stink and The Boy in the Dress are out of the ordinary, so Billionaire Boy had a tough job. It is really good, the message is very powerful, but compared to the other books by the same author, it is not a title that I would highlight.

Great for fans of the 90s movie Richie Rich.

At the moment, I am really enjoying David Walliams writing. It is new and regenerative that I haven't experienced since the heights of Roald Dahl. I;m not comparing them but I think in both their books: the author's/character's voice is strong throughout the books, the illustrations complement the writing and the plot lines are deep and interesting.

Good read for both children and adults.
