The Strange The Dreamer duology in which “Muse of Nightmares” is it’s sequel has some of the most beautiful writing I’ve ever read... and I’ve read a lot. Simply beautiful and heartbreaking and makes you look at “villains” in a totally different way. You will laugh and cry and cry some more and in the end you will... spoilers! All round great book.

Man throughout this whole book I was just waiting impatiently for Eril-Fane and Sarai to hug. They never did

DNF at 12%.

I want to apologize for not even remotely finishing the sequel to a book I gave a 5-stars rating, but it just has been such a long time since I read Strange the Dreamer (about 6 years now I think), and I just didn't feel connected to the story anymore. I wasn't invested in it and that might be partly my own fault. I should have reread the first book but I don't want to do that anymore.

Have fun to you guys reading Muse of Nightmares tho! I bet it's a good continuation!

AMAZING SEQUEL. I’m so emotionally attached to this series, it’s not even funny. Such a beautiful, deeply immersive and heartbreaking story with writing that I personally connected with on a whole other level.

What can I say that hasn’t been said? Perhaps this:
I loved this more than strange the dreamer - is that taboo? I know most love strange the dreamer the most, and while I adore the debut, I fell in Love with muse of nightmares. It was darker and most precise in a way, we also got to explore beyond the current world and how the worlds work - it was fantastic.

Minya’s character was further explored and I found myself relating to her, and all of her facets. She might be the most interesting and well thought out character of this Duology, and possibly my favorite (though Nova is similar and I wish we had heard more of her story - perhaps another book to write?)

I did like how satisfying the ending felt, and how they set out to do more *good* and to tie up lose ends for other characters, like Suheyla, and possible a body for Sarai. The speculation of what other gifts there could be has completed piqued my interests and imagination. I would *love* a well thought out and well written sequel
