tl;dr: Two women meet and bond over their shared experience of surviving the suicide of loved ones.  Neither has moved past it, and both are still heavily grieving.  Complicating things, one FMC has a very troublesome ex, along with an ailing career, while the other FMC is funneling all her experiences and emotions through her support dog.

So, yeah, not exactly light and fluffy.

This is one of those stories where the MCs are each going through some really tough times.  They try to reach out and make connections, but then have anxiety about tainting their relationship with needs and wants and emotions.  It's awkward and messy, and raw, and occasionally a little melodramatic.

If you like messy but hopeful, this is likely your jam.
