This was another book that has been sat on my kindle since 2014 and as I'm trying to read more digitally I thought I'd give this one a go!

The story follows the main character Chloe after she wakes up in a bunker bound, injured and with no memory of how she got there. She does manage to escape and is found by a passer by and taken to hospital however for various reasons neither her doctors or the police believe her story.

I liked the main character of Chloe. You could really feel how frustrated she was with her situation, from not being believed and also not remembering what happened to her.

There are a few twists and turns through out this novel however I would say that none of them are that shocking and we're all a little bit predictable, however that didn't make me not want to keep turning the pages to see if I was right.

Overall not a bad book, some interesting characters, a few twisty bits here and there and left me feeling pretty good that I got most of it right!

This is one of those books that offers up the obvious on a silver platter, but relies on twists to keep you guessing about exactly what is really happening.

Unfortunately, it became so obvious what was going on you just wanted the truth to finally come out.

LOOK BEHIND YOU, a twisted, mysterious psychological suspense by talented Sibel Hodge — Chloe Benson wakes up in the dark; a journey-- as we explore how and why she has arrived in this dangerous chilling unknown place.

Chloe knows she is in danger, when awakening with her feet and hands bound. She is confused; however, afraid for her life and knows she must escape. Appears she is somewhere in an underground tomb, and no memory what so ever how she arrived in this dark place.

She finally escapes and discovers she has lost seven weeks of her memory. What happened? Is she blocking something painful in order to protect herself? She has to retrace her past in order to discover what she has been doing during this blank time frame.

Is someone out to get to her, and is she safe? Is someone following her? Is she losing her mind? Who kidnapped her? Can she trust her husband, Liam? Why doesn’t anyone believe her?

A lover of Sleeping with the Enemy (was married to a similar type at one time—stress, “WAS”), controlling, and obsessive type, making you feel like you are the crazy one. Hodge delivers intrigue and suspense, a page-turner keeping you glued to the pages to learn what comes next. So realistic . . .

When I started reading Sibel’s upcoming Where Memories Lie (9/22), I noticed I had failed to write my review of Look Behind You (happened to be traveling at the time). I thoroughly listening to the audio, narrated by Susan Duerden with riveting performance of panic, paranoia, and fear---- a life blurred between madness, lies, and truth.

Highly recommend both books!

Good "edge of your seat" story. Kept me reading until 3:00 am because I wanted to see how the author revealed the events and bad guy.

Even though I figured out the ending in the first chapter, I really enjoyed the adventure until the end. It was well written and keeps you interested in reading.

Really good! This is one of the best books I've read lately. Very suspenseful. Starts off with a bang.
Chloe wakes up in a tomb with her hands bound. She has no recollection of how she got there. She finally manages to escape only to wake up in the hospital & find out she's suffering from psychosis & it didn't really happen. Or did it?
I listened to this on audible & the narrator was wonderful. This book kept me on the edge of my seat & I was suspecting everyone! Like Chloe, I wasn't sure which characters could be trusted. The point-of-view stays with Chloe, which I liked so you could see the story from her eyes.
The ending seemed to come together quickly. Maybe it's because the entire book was a huge build up to what really happened. I still really liked it though.
Very good, quick read! I highly recommend!

Three stars because it's a fast read and kept my interest... but probably closer to 2 stars because of its predictability.

I feel like the author just didn't try very hard. The set up for the story is exactly what happens... and that's it. There's no WHOA moment near the end, no plot twist. It's who she thought it was, who you thought it was, and frankly... it's not very creative. It could have been Jordan. Maybe Sara wasn't a real person after all and Chloe really was crazy. But... no. Just predictable.
