Bullet Review:

DNF at 24%.

Sometimes books just CLICK. Humor, plot, characters, writing, whatever. And other times they don't.

This doesn't click with me. Not a fan of the humor, characters are unappealing, plot seems to be your standard "Special Snowflake finds out he's important" type. The writing isn't terrible; it's more tolerable than 90% of Young Adult novels. But despite that "glowing endorsement", the plot lurches to a stop to dump flashbacks and character background that I wasn't even partially curious about (seriously, why should I care about Brand New Character Douglas's discovery of his necromancy powers at age umpty-scratch?). Oh, and one of the worse offenses about the writing: First Person POV interspersed with multiple Third Person POVs. First Person POV and I already have a love-hate relationship, but the only way to make First Person worse is to couple it with jumping to Third Person POVs for other characters. (Absolute worst? Do First Person PRESENT AND the Third Person POVs.)

Certainly not the worst out there, but it's doing nothing for me. I tried reading the physical copy; DNF at 10%. Tried listening to the audiobook; bored out of my mind at 24% (and I skipped multiple times - a practice I hate to do on audio). I think I've given this more than a fighting chance.

But hey, you may like. At the very least, there was ABSOLUTELY NO romantic plot in the 24% I read, which is a definite plus.

Hold Me Closer, Necromancer is definitely one of my favorite books of all time! I love everything about it! The characters are very original, as is the storyline. This book made me actually laugh out loud and grin like a fool, and there aren't many books that have been able to make me do that. I can't wait to read more books written by Lish McBride.

Just as funny the second time around. That is really the best thing about this book. In the middle of all this death, the narrator makes jokes and sarcastic comments that make me laugh out loud. Love it. Can't wait to read the next book.

I heard about this book when I went to a conference last fall. She said it was scary/funny. I agree on being funny because I was laughing at some of the parts. But on the scary, it was so-so. Douglas was kind of creepy though. I was kind of surprised when the author brought in the whole werewolf part of the story. I am kind of done with the whole werewolf storyline.

Also, I thought the ending was kind of typical with the huge climatic scene and then the main character is in the hospital with all the other characters telling him what happened because he "blacked out". Didn't hear this was suppose to be a series but it kind of ended like it might be.

This book had such an interesting concept to me not to mention a really pretty cover. I kept putting it off but finally got around to it. I really enjoyed the book and writting style. There were some cliches but they all really helped develop the charcters. As well as some really good plot twists that I didn't see coming. Can't wait to read the next one c:

A fun fast-paced read. Content warning for violence, torture, and sex (none of which are graphic).

I loved this book. It was sarcastic, funny, had a lot of action, and it had my favorite supernatural animal: werewolves. Oh yeah!I loved it and I cannot wait to buy it. Totally.

5 Stars, this was the most entertaining book I have read so far this year with its severed heads and kinky cage sex. It even had my (I wish it was) spirit animal Panda's. I had so much fun with it and this book is what I needed! Something different, fun and a quick read. Even though It took me all week to finish this one (due to laziness) This book could of been read in one sitting. I wish the end scene was drawn out and in my opinion it was to brief! BUT the end scene was still epic. I love this book for what its worth, which is that this book is a great time. I recommend this book for book hangovers or curing your reading slump. On to the next one.
