This is a great book for small children, but found it touching myself, given that there really are children growing up in bombings in this world. It makes it so much easier for me to appreciate the news and current events, and understand our history. It will give kids a much deeper understanding of world issues when they are old enough to put it into context.
There are many books about the Second World War, but Brian James’s Dangerous Skies is a refreshing story about children who, for a change, are living in the middle of London during one of the most dangerous times in history. That James has actually experienced the war himself shines through the pages and, as a result, this is truly a gripping read. Dangerous Skies is a thrilling and heart warming book, making it suitable for all ages.
