This story was unfolded in such a great way! I loved the multiple POV narrative, it adds tension but also gave so much insight into the inner lives of the characters. The way Kim writes about the mothers in this story is incredible, the power dynamics as well. This story focuses on many topics and I think it does a great job at all of it. It’s so much more than a courtroom drama, this is such a humanizing story, you really empathize with the characters as you begin to understand why they did what they did except Matt, nope, nope, nope I loved this book. The audiobook was amazing as well. Need more from Kim!

A really interesting take on a courthouse mystery. I was second guessing who was to blame for the crime until the very end

"That was the thing about lies: they demanded commitment. Once you lied, you had to stick to your story."
What a debut. Miracle Creek is a twisty, layered, and compelling page-turner that takes us inside and outside of a Virginia courtroom to uncover the motive and individual behind a fatal explosion at a small HBOT (hyperbaric oxygen therapy) facility in a rural town.
The characters (many of whom are unlikable) are complex people with flawed personalities who have probable motives due to the withholding of their own secrets, which drives this novel. They all seek a better life in different ways. But at what cost?
The unfolding nearing the last couple of chapters gripped me. I don't read many courtroom dramas. But after reading this one, I def need to change that.

I think my expectations were too high going into this. It has all the components you’d expect from the genre, leading nothing to be a surprise. Am I glad I read it, yes. Will I ever re-read it, no.
