I gotta be honest, I skimmed through the last half of this. And it's a shame ´cause I really REALLY wanted to love Tank Girl. But I don't.
I like the premise of Tank Girl, the whole concept and derangement. What I don't like is the artwork and the writing - the execution basically. The artwork itself I can't fault, I just don't like the style - too gritty and messy for my taste. It being in black and white didn't help matters, I spend way too much brainpower trying to figure out what was what. It may be better in colour, but I'm not sure I can actually be bothered to find out.
Now; the writing. I know I have to take in to account that it was written in the 80´s and from an australian point of view no less. But having said that; most of the dialogue is ridiculous and the writers are trying waaay too hard to find new and long-winded ways of cussing and calling each other names. It gets tiring. The horrible lettering dosnøt help either - it just didn't flow.
The only thing I liked was Tank Girl and Booga - poor kangaroo.
I ended up with a headache and a bad case of disappointment.

Despite the great art, funny storytelling, and silly plotlines I didn't fully enjoy this book. It must be one of those "you had to be there" things. As I'm not particularly familiar with 80's punk culture, I think I missed a lot of fun stuff that was going on in the backgrounds and the dialogue.

It was good. The art's fantastic and the inking was really nice too. However I realized I'm not a big fan of the character. It's a little too much 'in your face'. I understand why people love this character, unfortunately its not for me.

Took me awhile to finish because the sense of humor wasn't really my thing.
