Someone at work just left this book in my office, so I didn't know what to expect. The book is really a collection of posts (maybe cleaned up? I haven't read his blog) from his blog.
The very first article/post was about someone I don't know and I had trouble getting into the book, then I took the book on a long airplane ride and read the rest of the book quickly (unfortunately, it was too quick because the book was done before the flight).
After that first article, the book was really great. The articles were short and on a range of design topics. though I teach design at a community college, design is not my background and particularly not advertising or font design. I appreciated the accessible discussion of design topics. They don't all relate to me or my work, but they mostly all could help me think about what I do in my class. There were at least two articles that made me want to learn more about the topic being discussed.
I plan to read "dot font: talking about font" soon--even though I'm not that familiar with font and text in design.
