BEAUTIFUL book! Finally I can read something that can put my appreciation of How to Train Your Dragon's art work and story telling into words! Fantastic book if you love the series or if you love to look at artwork. ~Ashley

Sometimes I have to skip ‘Together From Afar’ by Jonsi whenever it shuffles in my playlist because I get so damn emotional listening to it.

This book felt like saying goodbye to old friends who you’ve known for years but it’ll be okay because you’ll be together from afar.

This is far from an art book, there is plenty of commentary from directors, producers, animation designers and even the author of the original books herself. The art is s t u n n i n g, and the interviews and commentary are organised coherently. If you’re a big HTTYD fan or if you know someone who is, this is the best gift to give them. I got my copy as a gift, and I’m going to treasure it forever.

although I had already appreciated the art of the movie, reading this book, and looking into a bit of what the whole crew had to do to get to the point of one of the best movies ever, makes me appreciate even more. still a shame that HTTYD: The Hidden World didn't win the Animated Film Oscar 2020, but it will always be a winner in my books. even if you aren't a HTTYD fan, I totally recommend this if you are an art lover, movie enthusiast or anything else.

There was a lot of design panels, with so much effort and thought put into them. Even though I heartily appreciate looking at those, I don't love them like I do the background art and landscape. There was some of that, and some truly gorgeous panels at that, but I could have wished for a few more, or full page panels, rather than baby ones. There were a goodly amount of character sketches and the like, which make me so grateful they ended up with the character designs they did.

Interesting to page through, but it won't change your life or anything.

The art is stunning as the movies. The sketches of the night lights are my favorite from this book.

Beautiful, inspiring art! Could have done without the "make the bad guy an Other" aspect but that's not really here or there. The art is still great.
