An interesting look at the politics behind nuclear and biological weapons during the cold war. However I felt it was way too pro-Reagan, especially with how it rationalises his stubborn refusal to reconsider SDI, and also (correctly) critical of the Soviet Military-Industrial complex, while not really acknowledging anything similar in the USA.

Still, the chapters describing Soviet nuclear defences (for instance the false alarm in 1983) and lack of security around them under Yeltsin were all very informative. Just a shame the author doesn't hold Reagan culpable for any part of the whole mess
