**I received a copy of this book via Net Galley in exchange for an honest review**

Desperate Match is book 5 of the Coded For Love Series by Lynne Silver. It can be read as a stand alone but I highly recommend that you read them in order to meet the entire team of men from the program.

Rowan Blacker has decided to throw his hat into find a match even though he's a new addition to the team, he's Adam's brother who has been training him for quite awhile. He does wonder if not having an arm will turn off his match or could it not matter to her once they meet.

Jill Thompson has been married to Jack for six years and every one of those years were abusive. She hears that the Program is looking for possible matches to their men and she escapes to the library to put in her name for a match. But will she be able to leave her husband without him finding out? Can she fall in love with her match and learn how to really love a man without fearing him?

Once Jill is notified that she has matched with soldier, she plots to escape and meet her possible mate. Rowan and Jill meet and they decide to take it slow to discover if they are true matches. However, her husband has a devious plan to try and get her back. Everyone at the Program compound is very leery but protective of Jill once they find out what has happened during her marriage.

I loved how the women (or match) of the previous books rally around both Jill and Rowan and how they come up with a plan to finally break free from Jack Thompson. All in all this was a great addition to the series plus there is a snippet of book 6 featuring Shepherd and his possible match.

This had a pretty interesting plot: a woman who if the victim of domestic violence seeks to match herself to a genetically engineered soldier in hopes of escaping her husband. I even like the added twist that the soldier the heroine was matched with had a birth defect. It was a nicely paced read and I didn't need to read the other books in the series to be caught up in what was happening.

Jill had been married to her high school sweetheart, Jack for six years. She had become a shell of the girl she once was when she first started dating Jack. But when she discovered The Program and the hope that she could be genetically matched to an engineered soldier, she began plotting her escape. Despite how beaten down she was, Jill was a stronger woman than she gave herself credit for...especially when she shows up at a military base without knowing whether they'd let her in or not. She started coming out of her shell around the other women on the base and even opened herself up a bit to Rowan.

Rowan was a nice guy and he would do just about anything for Jill, even when he thought she wasn't his match. But he harbored a bit of a chip on his shoulder when it came to his arm and he jumped to a lot of conclusions about other people based on that chip. I felt like he held Jill's initial reaction to his arm against her. Despite her saying she loved him, he still thought she felt he was less than because he wasn't "whole" like his brother. I liked him a little less because of that.

Rowan was very sweet with Jill when it came to intimacy between the two of them. He knew what she had been through and kept to his promise of going at her pace. But I loved how dirty he got with her when he knew she getting more comfortable. I love nothing more than a man who dirty talks and he had a good dose of it for Jill.

I love this series. With each book from page 1, I was drawn into the lives' of the main characters. With each book, I fell in love with the entire community of enhanced soldiers and their ladies.

Jill ran from her abusive husband to the only place where she knew it would be safe....The Program. Now with her match, Rowan, wants to help her and give her the time she needs to heal from the abuse she experienced from her husband, Jack, who is a snake.

I love series. Getting to read about previous characters and learning what they are up to is a favorite of my. This series is a must read. I have already read Book #6, First Match, and loved it, too.
