"Places to be sullen"? "Places to be awestruck"? Oh, Mac, how did you know I needed a book with a large amount of emotional vocabulary for my incarcerated teens and my families with incarcerated parents? I wish the soft illustrations by Renata Liwska differentiated between the characters a little more clearly, but that is a minor quibble.

I like that this one uses "unusual" words, something for kids to question and learn with. On the flip side, you'll have the kids that aren't curious and might get bored because they don't know what the words mean🤷🏽♀️
The illustrations are cute though.

In addition to being a sweet friendship story with warm illustrations, this book boasts quite a vocabulary! Kids could learn a lot of new words to describe their feelings (ex: jubilant, sullen). I'd recommend it more as a one-on-one read than a group read-aloud so that the meanings of the words can be explained if need be.

A Nice sentiment of how we can "be" different places with our friends.
