This was entertaining, and then ended rather abruptly without seeing so much as a kiss (though it was implied there would be one). Even in a short story, I expect a romance to have more than a conversation in an elevator and a promise of a future date. The chemistry was definitely there - I just felt let down by the follow-through, or lack of it.

3.5. Cute M/M holiday romance short story. Our narrator gets stuck in an elevator in a mall with a good looking man. There’s flirting and talking and a surprising amount of emotional depth for such a short story (and no sex). It ends on a nice hfn.

I found the writing a little distracting - it’s in first person present tense (I think I have that right) and it didn’t completely work for me.

My overriding question at the start of this is why anyone would wait two hours for giftwrap service!!
Meet cute in the stuck elevator plot - mostly we get Grant’s thoughts, what info comes from Will is in response to questions. Grant’s flustered verbal diarrhoea is amusing. I learned a lot about Kwanzaa which I’d heard about but now know more about.
