Elegant and well constructed. Written with such empathy for all the characters. Really strikes a balance between understanding every person in the story, yet still showing responsibility and giving you sides to root for. Love the portrayal of mothers, and characters like Maya and Benji. The suspense was real and I was actually invested in the hockey matches. Had no trouble keeping up with the large cast of characters. Occasionally the book waxes poetic, and the story is not ultimately an unfamiliar one - but no concrete complaints really.
