I have two things to complain about this book that will not have any impact on whether or not someone else will want to read it, but I have to get it off my chest:

1. There are a lot of errors in this book. Missing words, misspelled words, periods where there should be commas, commas where there should be semi-colons... it was annoying.

2. I am so tired of "I live in a small town where everyone knows who I am and I have no privacy" stories. Here's a hint: if you are dropping off your mom to get her hair done at a strip mall, then your town isn't that small. I grew up in a very small town (population approximately 4,000). There are no strip malls in my town. When I lived there, there were two stop lights. (I think they've put in two or three more since I moved away.) The movie theatre has two screens. Walmart is the only chain store in town, and aside from a McDonalds and a KFC/A&W, no chain restaurants. It is a small town... I lived there my ENTIRE life, from birth to age 18, and I am (and always was) perfectly anonymous there. You may run into someone you know at the grocery store from time to time, but mostly you live your life. It's not one of those 'everyone knows everyone, hot bed of gossip' types of places so ubiquitous in fiction. I don't think those places really exist. I had this conversation with my mom about a year ago, and she agreed with me. Small towns are just not as incestuous as popular fiction (and movies and TV) would have you believe.
And it wouldn't matter how big of a city you lived in, if you went to the same restaurant/store/whatever all the time, the people that worked there would eventually start to recognize you and even start to remember what you usually get. That's not a small town thing.

So there.

Otherwise a very non-standout bdsm book.

Katie Long (sub) is out to prove she can be a bad girl. Not to the world but to herself. She seduces "bad boy" Joe Carson (dom) by showing him her bad side. The chemistry starts hot with these two and stays hot. I loved how Sasha White switches between the love scenes (very detailed) and the characters thinking. It really makes you care about the characters and feel for them. There was a bit back and forth between Katie and Joe and this rest of her life but it mainly focused on her and her thinking of her wanting to be with Joe or thinking about when she was last with Joe, things like that. There is not alot of family and friend interaction. When there is the writing is very well written and paced.

I am not drawn to novels about domination and submission but when I first read Sasha White in Kink she made me really think about how someone that never had been put in a sub/dom role and really like it, felt. Hard to explain but I like things that make me think and romantica like this makes you think and lets you feel too. I am glad to have read her in a novella and picked this book as my first full length.

Hot, kinky and fun. The author mixes kink and romance in a believable way. I’ll admit it took me a bit to warm up to these characters but as they grew so did my appreciation for them. The story will keep you turning pages but fair warning break out the fan and a cold drink.

Wow, this was a wild ride through a roller coaster of emotion and sexual fantasies!

Sasha White doesn't hold back and delivers life blow by blow to her protagonist, Katie. She starts us off in the story with Katie taking charge and living out her first fantasy. But that is where Katie lets go and turns full control over to Joe and things really heat up. But to Katie, letting go of control is her escape from a world where she is in control 24/7. Her job, her family, just life in general requires her to be in control and on the ball. So giving it all up when Joe makes his demands makes her nights with him even more intense.

But there is more to this story than sex. Katie is ready to leave town and move to the big city where she can just blend in. She needs to get away from her clingy mother and her new boyfriend. But when things with Joe heat up, her plans don't seem so simple anymore.

This was a great story and Sasha White delivered it well. Even Joe, who I didn't love in the beginning, eventually won me over. The way she gradually moved Joe and Katie from casual sex to something more felt natural. Katie didn't just fall head over heels in love with him, though she did have enough lust to keep me interested. Joe is a hard character, rarely even cracking a smile. He didn't just turn to mush when he was around Katie, but he showed a few tender moments to make me eventually like him.

I'm disappointed it took me so long to read this book (life getting in the way and all that), because while there was a lull in the "action" after the first scene, there was plenty to make up for it later. And the break in the sex gave me a chance to see more about Katie than just her in the bedroom (or living room, or kitchen, or... well, you get the idea) and learn more about the people in her life. The secondary characters bring Katie to life on the pages as she struggles with her relationship with her mother and her best friend.

Oh the classic tale of desperately wanting to move away from small town life to the city, then moving and finding out life is empty there and home really is back in that small town.

Despite the plot line not having much of a surprise, White does a great job writing characters that you will fall in love with. Joe is very stern and unapproachable, but he is also drop dead gorgeous and has that whole dominant male thing going. How can you not fall for that! Add to that mix you are not sure what his past is or why he seems so capable of handling tricky situations. Makes you curious right?

As for Katie she might be a little naive but she is young and figuring out what she wants in life. You have to give the girl some points for actually having the guts to make the first move, and oh what a bold one it was. Katie has some untapped desires and is finally figuring out that she found someone to help her with that.

Bound is a quick read packed with hot scenes, great characters, and a little mystery.

Blech. Neither hot erotica nor satisfying romance, this book fell flat on all fronts. I'd anticipated kinky sex scenes in novel form. Instead, this author took what should have been fun and made it feel pointless. I know it's part of the romance trope that the main characters have to end up together and have to be in love, but it just didn't feel at all plausible here. These two meet at work at a casino, play a few sex games, then move in together a few weeks later. There must be an audience for this sort of book, but I'm obviously not it.

This was the most awkwardly written attempt at a steamy romance I've ever read. It was like listening to someone's prim mom trying to explain in first person the dirty things she did with someone. I was especially amused by the sex scene where "hands roamed over all the usual erogenous zones" and by the romantic lead's use of his "talented finger". Then there's the fact that the main character has sexual interaction with someone other than the guy she's been with and obsessed with the entire book just pages before she achieves her happy (and extremely abrupt) ending with someone else. So, to review. Not romantic. Not sexy. No likeable characters. I wouldn't have even finished this book had I not unwisely purchased it for my Kindle--and wanted to be able to count it towards my list of books fully read this year.
Please don't waste your time or money. It's not so bad it's funny. it's not enjoyable. it's just awkwardly bad and unenjoyable.

Meh. The sex scenes were alright but I didn't like any of the other plot. Like the main character I also grew up in a small town and wanted to get away... I just didn't join high stakes poker games to do it.

Not terrible but not particularly good either
