I really liked this collection of short stories. There's "darkness" in most of the stories, which I guess is to be expected of a book about broken people. I really enjoyed the way the author captured emotion in the stories, there was a deep sense of love, nostalgia and longing amidst all the brokenness. It was also interesting to read a book set in Port Harcourt because most of the Nigerian books I've read have been set in Lagos (or another state in the South-West). Now I'm off the listen to all songs that inspired the short stories.
TW: alcoholism, sexual assault, domestic violence, child loss, drug use, gang violence/cultism, police brutality, etc.
