This book is me in graphic novel form. We have red heads, legends, shapeshifters, castles, firecracker personalities. It’s everything I could ever want! I love everything Irish, or set in Ireland so it’s no surprise I loved this graphic novel. It was so cute, and just reading through the speech bubbles I could hear the Irish accents perfectly. This reminded me a little of the movie Brave, so if you’re into that at all you definitely need to try this book. Mebh honestly cracks me up, and her character is as fiery as her amazing red hair.

The concept for this story was really fascinating. However, I think it was a movie made into a graphic novel, and it didn't translate well. There were moments that were confusing or supposed to be funny but werent because it needed the movie aspect and not a drawn one.

I also don't like it when shows play with history and drastically change it, especially when it comes to kids things.
They had lord Cromwell die at the end, and that didn't happen in real life.
I'm an historian, so things like that matter to me.

Unfortunately, it probably accurately described Cromwell's fanatic religiousity. As a Christian, it was painful to read, but it's time Christians face the issues we've created rather than telling an alternate story. (It's also why telling the truth of history, despite it being a work of fiction, is so important).

I love Cartoon Saloon and while I don't usually like novelizations, this one is pretty good! I read this since I don't currently have Apple TV to rewatch the movie before our trip to Kilkenny.

But watch the movie for sure, it's so good. And their others too.

So cute! I don’t have Apple TV+ so I haven’t seen the movie, but now I really want to! The graphic novel seems a very faithful adaptation of the film so some of the action gets lost when translated into panels.

Overall, very cute story and the art is lovely!
