My daughter is called Nell, so Carmel’s chapters talking about the relationship with her daughter were absolutely brilliant to me.

I don't really get poetry so I think maybe a big portion of the book's meaning was lost on me. I enjoyed Nell's perspective and lost some interest during the others. I liked this book.

Such a beautiful story told by three generations of the same family, and how the issues of one generation can have a profound effect on generations to come.
