The (as of now) final book in Tana French's Dublin Murder Squad series, The Trespasser is fairly engaging and interesting. The detectives are a repeat from those in The Secret Place, though with a different narrator. They make a great team and I was so pleased that, for once, their partnership does not (entirely) implode over the course of the book. Antoinette is a fascinating character and her narration felt very distinctive from French's other narrators. I did find some issue with the sexism she faces in the squad and how that storyline resolves. The mystery itself is quite intriguing and I liked that the murder victim became a vivid character on her own. I think this book is my third favorite of French's novels after The Likeness & Faithful Place.

What a way to finish the Dublin Murder Squad. I really love Conway and Moran - The Secret Place is along with The Likeness my favourite in this series so reading about their dynamic again was great. This is such a comfort series for me and if this book is after all the last we see of the squad I'm glad it ended in such a hopeful place.

Tana French has done it again: written another first-person detective novel that winds together a perfectly paced story with enough twists and turns to stay exciting but remain realistic, a compelling yet not quite reliable narrator, an atmosphere-rich world, and dialogue exchanges that Elmore Leonard would have approved of.

Love the fact that it was a cop who did it and the fact that she’s a lesbian

Another fantastic Tana French / Dublin Murder Squad book! I was immediately drawn into the characters -- detectives Antoinette Conway and Stephen Moran. They are partners on the midnight shift, and have a sixth sense about each other. We follow them as they investigate a murder, all while being pressured by the other detectives on the squad. French has a lovely way of setting a scene and making the reader feel like they are right there with the detectives. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that she will continue to write Dublin Murder Squad books.

Tana French is a 5-star author for me. Everything she writes is pure gold.
