Another great Yasmin collection! I feel like these stories are just getting stronger as the series goes on - or maybe it's just that my kid and I already know and love the characters and are excited to spend more time with them.

Give It A Try, Yasmin! is a collection that includes:

Yasmin the Librarian: Yasmin enjoys taking her turn being the school librarian's helper and shares a book from home. (OK, yes, I found this story less compelling than the rest of the collection.)

Yasmin the Scientist: One of my new favorite Yasmin books! Respect for traditional "women's work"? Yes!  Baba being an engaged and supportive father? Yes! Nani puttering happily along being Nani? Yes! Yasmin overcoming her anxious perfectionism and coming up with another successful school project? Yes indeed!

Yasmin the Recycler: Yasmin's school has started a recycling program! Yasmin is excited - but all the other kids are being jerks who don't care about the planet. Yasmin (helped by Mama and Nani's paratha cooking skills) figures out how to incentivize the rest of the school.

Yasmin the Singer: Finally, my favorite story in the collection! Yasmin, Mama and Nani are attending a party to celebrate a wedding. I love the sense of community shown in the illustrations as the women gather together to celebrate; and I love how accurately and sympathetically the story shares  the experience of being a shy kid in an unfamiliar crowd.

(I'm putting longer and more rambly reviews on the single books that that go into this collection, FYI.)
