Among the Imposter is the second book in the Shadow Children series and is about a shadow child named Luke. A shadow child is a name for a person who is a third child and is not allowed to exist. However, Luke got a fake i.d. and went to a school called Hendricks. His goal is to gain rights for shadow children but he realizes the job is too big for him.

I think this book was boring. In the first 3/4 of the book, all that happened was Luck complained about how horrible his life is and he will never reach his goal. The only reason I did not give it 2 stars is because in the end, interesting secrets are revealed.

This sequel to Among the Hidden was another quick (these books can be read in one or two sittings), exciting read. I am officially hooked on the series and plan to continue reading them all. Parts of the book felt a little rushed, but I did not feel like there were any obvious plot holes at this point, which is a major feat with the amount of material that was presented in such a small book.

I do have to mention that the portrayal of people with autism in the book was clichéd and inaccurate.

It was a good sequel to the first book. I liked the first book better, but it was fun to see the continuing story of Luke (now Lee). I will most likely give the 3rd book a try!

Luke has found a way to live a real life under a new identity...Lee Grant. Now he is free to live a normal life. But he is still constantly nervous that someone will find out about his fake ID.
