I have previously read the first three in this small anthology - Le Belle Dame Sans Merci, Lamia and The Eve of St Agnes - so only read the last two of the book this time, but my score reflects all 5 poems.
Overall Score - 2.5 stars
The Eve of St Agnes - 3 stars
Le Belle Dame Sans Merci - 2 stars
Lamia - 2 stars
Ode to Psyche - 3 stars
Ode on a Grecian Urn - 2 stars

This Little Black Classic contains 5 poems, however the first three, ‘The Eve of Saint Agnes’, ‘La Belle Dame Sans Merci’ and ‘Lamia’, I know very well, so I did not reread them, instead only reading the other two poems. The other two poems were of no surprise to me – they reminded me why I do not like Keats’ poetry. Not great, especially after the Rossetti I had completed hours before, however it was as expected.

I like this. A lot. Definitely reading more of Keats on a peaceful summer night with a glass of wine.

So atmospheric - Keats is my favourite poet! Reading The Eve of St Agnes on the actual Eve of St Agnes was so atmospheric and I love Keats' style and use of imagery. His other odes and greek-inspired poems in the book are also gorgeous and personally I loved Ode to Psyche. Keats' writing is so beautiful and delicate but still stays rooted in the historical canon in a way very few other poets have managed to do!
