Behold Behemoth is a book that’s a little chaotic in all the best ways. The world is in shambles, and the main character, Grey, seems to be having a mental break as people close to him seem to be dying rather violently. He sees strange images that further convince him that he is not okay. He works checking in on foster children, and he seems to have some strange connection with Wren. And all of this is just in the first issue!

The artwork is flawless. I love the colours that are captured and utilized to emphasize certain scenes. I also love the art style and how it alters throughout the story.

Tate Brombal is a fantastic writer. He manages to write on essential topics but includes them with some sci-fi or fantasy spin, creating an incredibly in-depth pseudo-realistic world. For example, this issue discusses environmental concerns, mental health, loss, and children’s aid. These are all very relevant topics that need to be explored more in writing and the comic form. I feel Behold Behemoth is only going to get better and better. I can’t recommend it enough.
