Absolutely delightful. I adore Macbeth and this is a wonderful loose parody. Now I have to go reread the original. And thank my boyfriend for introducing me to Pratchett. xD

Pratchett can't really miss, but while saying that there is certainly a lack of cohesiveness that came from expanding the characters more. Not saying that parody is necessarily bad, just that this one isn't an exemplarily reason why Pratchett is a great author.

I loved listening to this novel. There were some laugh out loud moments thanks to Pratchett's footnotes. I think this is a very clever piece of fantasy, especially for anyone who is a fan of Shakespeare's most famous tragedies, Macbeth and Hamlet. The afterword with Joanne Harris (author of Chocolat) sums up exactly the lasting impact of this story and a concept that Sir Terry so keenly understood: words have the greatest power of all.

3.5 stars.

The second outing in the "Witches" series of Discworld books sadly did not grip me the same way that Equal Rites did. However, it was still very fun and I loved all the theater shenanigans. I'm very much enjoying my travels through Discworld and I am eager to try some of the other stories now that I have had a taste of the witches.
