This was an interesting little story, ut I'm not sure it added anything to the arc of the series.

I've loved all the Joe Ledger books I've listed to so far this one was no exception. It's a nice quick short shorty about Captain Ledger before [b:Patient Zero|3993839|Patient Zero (Joe Ledger, #1)|Jonathan Maberry|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1439953244l/3993839._SX50_.jpg|4039913]
Ray Porter is also an amazing narrator!

This would make a better beginning to Patient Zero but as a standalone story published after that novel it really adds very little, as most of the content is word for word the opening chapter of Patient Zero.

This is very short. It is pretty much just the first chapter of [b:Patient Zero|3993839|Patient Zero (Joe Ledger, #1)|Jonathan Maberry|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1410708891s/3993839.jpg|4039913] and then a preview of another book-that I didn't want to read yet because I'm just starting this series.

A prequel to [b:Patient Zero|3993839|Patient Zero (Joe Ledger, #1)|Jonathan Maberry|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1316125347s/3993839.jpg|4039913], this story contains basically a shootout frenzy and a prospective zombie. In other words, it's a testosterone orgy.

Jonathan Maberry is really good at what he does, but I just can't take much of it.
When writing his action scenes, they're fast-paced and meticulously written, but the violence-porn gets to me after a while. I know there's a big market out there for this (a friend of mine is really into this, and I get into it in small doses), but I just can't take much of it at once.
