Do you know the story behind Jacqueline Kennedy's wedding dress? Don't miss this one.

The designer -- What an amazing lady! Her story needed to be told, and Piper Huguley gave Ann Lowe all the honor she deserves in this inspiring novel.

Heard about this from a friend.

The story spans a period from the late 1920s to the late 1960s, with a focus on one woman's life and career. Ann Lowe is from a family of dressmakers, and learns her trade as a child. She also has a unique talent and vision that she brings. Despite working exclusively for high society clients, her race means she is treated as "just a Black dressmaker" for most of her career despite recognition of the quality of both her designs and her dressmaking.

The historical story is very interesting. I wasn't always convinced by the structure of the book or the storytelling, but it was always good enough to keep me going.
