Ooooohhh, aaaah!

Octavia doesn't have it easy. And her men can be a bit stupid at times.
But Nico, oh he is my favorite.

It was an epic conclusion to the series that tied up most of the conflict, but the pacing of the story and overall relationship development was not a very satisfactory read for me. We finally meet more of the gods and some answers about how they actually interacted with the world, but it was very surface-level and quickly resolved. That portion didn't even really start until around 80% into the novel - the rest was about the main characters' relationship progress and various factions starting to ask Titan for sanctuary from the escaped gods.

I honestly found the FMC Olivia to be quite the stubborn bull-headed individual - while she complained that her mates would do things without her consultation, she did the exact same thing to them. There were multiple conversations about this impulse on everyone's part but it changed exactly no one's behavior. Her escalation of power throughout this book was also a little absurd - from chapter to chapter she was quickly "found" to be actually something more powerful.

The relationship development of the series was also completely bizarre to me. We finally get some full on intimate scenes (pretty much one per mate), but the men acted like doe-eyed virgins and when they finally got to the act, it was literally

with no other build-up. For example, one scene between Warrick and Olivia was in some random alley when she was trying to quickly have a conversation with him before he went back undercover, but they (dumbly) decided to waste their time playing hooky until they were interrupted.

It was a mediocre series overall, and I don't think I'd really recommend it in general. The dystopian world of gods and humans was an interesting concept, but the series didn't do a good job of fleshing it out with its characters.
