Lore Olympus is finished online and this is just a general review.

The Romance- A 2/10 for me, Not only do Hades and Persephone spend more than half of the comic separated, which hinders any build up, but when they are together Hades felt predatory most of the time. Also after they got married it felt like the author stopped caring about romance since the main goal was reach. The main goal being marriage. After that everything felt extremely rushed.

The plot- 1/10, Honestly halfway through the plot completely changes and Lore Olympus becomes a completely different story after awhile. I’m not even sure what the plot is anymore.

The characters- 3/10, A lot of them aren’t even real characters they’re just whatever the plot needs them to be at certain moments. Then I didn’t like how the author used one of the characters to clapback at the criticism. The author definitely came off as immature there. That’s definitely not how you handle any kind of criticism. Then as one expects from this type of author a couple of the antagonists were the only well written characters that had flaws.

The art- 7/10, I really like the art style however there were times when it was obvious little to no effort was made especially later on.

I started this on Webtoon years ago and I didn’t know it had gone this far so I was super excited to find this copy at my local library. I love all the colors and I loveeee Greek mythology so this was a great and very quick read. It only took me so long to finish because I started it right before finals oops.

So, we bought this and Volume 2 for my sister-in-law for her birthday and I couldn't help but just...try them out for her before giving them to her in a couple of weeks!

Full disclosure, I did read about 2/3ds to 3/4ths of this book on Webtoon wayyy back when, probably around 2018 or 2019, so teeechhnically this is a reread, and therefore my thoughts on this aren't as fresh and new as they would be for a brand new read.

That all said, the art is great, probably the best part about this even if it can be inconsistent at times (colors not lining up with Persephone, for example), though I'm sure that will improve some as I go on. The writing is quick and snappy, making it easy to blast through the whole book in a short amount of time, but it leaves a lot of room and desire for these characters to develop, so we'll see if that also improves over time.

I'm excited to continue on to stuff I don't remember reading before, so I'll catch you in the next one!

I was reading Lore Olympus when it had just started on Webtoon. I absolutely needed to buy the physical copies and this didn’t disappoint. Mild trigger warning towards the end, but there is a chapter afterwards to ease you afterwards. Made me feel all giddy and happy :) worth a read, this spin of Persephone and Hades is adorable and the art Is beautiful.

I don't read a lot of graphic novels but I am enjoying this series. I have a relative appreciation for Greek mythology so it's fun to see the stories.
