"My story starts in the throat.
The throat is a tower: the story climbs out
of that red cage, personal, burning..."

This chapbook is as beautiful inside as it is out. I really love how these poems are fairytale-esque, but reach towards an honesty in their accounts of girl/womanhood. They are dark and live in the woods, but well-crafted and somehow soothing, as well. Love this quietly magical and powerful collection.
