I approached Rick Rubin’s The Creative Act with curiosity, but it didn’t quite resonate with me. The ideas felt somewhat repetitive and leaned heavily on spiritualized self-help. With so many other compelling titles on my list, I’ve decided to revisit this one later.

Despite it being relatively short, this took me a long time to get through! I think it is one of those books that you have to listen to when you are going through your own creative process and have something to reverence or reflect on in your own life.
When working on a creative project, this book jump starts the creative juices, giving me new insights into the creative process and my own technique. I highly recommend this book to anyone going through their own creative journey, be it art or otherwise.
