Kokia puiki knyga! Įkvepianti, kupina kūrybinės energijos, apie kurią sukasi įžvalgos. Parašyta lakoniškai, bet labai gerai – malonumas skaityti. Didelę dalį aptariamų idėjų esu radusi kur nors kitur – ar kūrybiškumo patarimuose, ar filosofiniuose kūriniuose, tačiau nuo to jos netampa mažiau autentiškos. Priešingai – tai patikrinos ilgamečio kūrėjo tiesos, kurias jis puikiai pažįsta ir pateikia iš autentiškos, įtaigios perspektyvos.
Skaičiau skaitmeninę, tačiau dar nė neįpusėjusi užsisakiau fizinę. Žinau, kad norėsiu prie jos grįžti vėl ir vėl. Kaip gerai pasakė draugė, kurios dėka šią knygą pasiėmiau – tai lyg koks kūrybinis šventraštis. Knyga, labai verta būti kiekvieno kuriančio (ar norinčio pradėti kurti) žmogaus asmeninėje bibliotekoje.

Ironically one of the books concluding chapters talks about the importance of editing. This book could probably do with one.
I loved the edition. I actually really enjoyed many aspects of it. And will certainly refer back to it over time. However a decent portion is axiomatic and a little trite. But read it. It's one you can pick and put down while reading other stuff.

I think the author feels like they've written deep truths in this book, and I'm sure for some they really are... But for me it read like pretentious fluff.
Maybe I'll circle back one day in a different mindset and take something else away from this book, but at least for today it simply took itself too seriously without offering anything of substance.

I enjoyed the interview with him to discuss this book more than the book itself. I think he gives more/better context in conversation and sounds less like a guru. That said, there are still some lovely nuggets in the book that I enjoyed thinking about and would try to put into practice (like not being attached to the story you have in your head about anything; not confusing the work you produce with who you are). A quick read, great for when you have a good chunk of downtime and can knock it out in a few sessions.

I borrowed this as an e-book from my library but will be purchasing a copy to read over again and highlight specifc parts to come back to. It is like an ode to being a creative. There were so many points I agreed with and that were put into words I had never thought of. So many ideas explored, and it has inspired me in multiple ways. I highly recommend reading this if you are a creative, especially if you are questioning your ability. It starts off slow but really improves dramatically a little less than a fourth through.
