Wonderful book about being an artist/creating something. The book contains small morsels of wisdom that can be thought about after reading. Reading that is somehow a mixture of reflexion and meditation.

I don’t think it’s fair to put this book in the self-help category - the author himself says in the beginning “nothing in this book is known to be true. […] Use what’s helpful. Let go of the rest”

Vast majority of self-help books are insufferable. This one feels more like a relaxed philosophical discussion about the nature of art and how to create even if you don’t view yourself as an artist. There are no right and wrong, no strict advises, no feeling of superiority - in fact, there is quite a strong emphasis throughout the entire book that you’re the only mastermind that matters for your creativity, there is no competition.

Removed half of the star simply for questionable medical practices - if you’re ever  told that your appendix had bursted, please go to the hospital instead of “finding yourself in the bookshop” and skimming through random books in search of some questionable wisdom about not removing the appendix ☠️
