This book would benefit from re-reading. Every line is significant and something to ponder on for a day. I did find it slightly repetitive, but really appreciated the wide perspective on art.
This book is really not for me, since I'm not really a philosophy reader or into the mysticalization of the arts or any kind of esoterica. There's good practical advice here but I find a lot of it best applies to people who don't have regular jobs, families, or especially children.

Rubin’s beautifully states what should be obvious but is all too often clouded. His guidance for artists is sage and adaptive to the individual, he makes a great job of providing frames of work without prescribing a set way of creating. I enjoy the fact that most of his real world examples of his theories come from a musicians perspective but are completely applicable to whatever form of creative you are.
absolutely loved the way creativity was put in this. Originally had at 4.25 but after his recent comments comparing AI to punk music i cant get behind it.
