I've been wanting to read this for a very long time. I really enjoy a completed love triangle no matter how brief the moment is. Based on the epilogue I'm wondering if there will be a sequel I haven't been keeping up in that regard. I loved all of the real world cultural details that were interwoven into this fantastical sci-fi story.

This was awesome. I love mechs and the setting is very evocative. Brought me out of a reading slump! The prose can be a little on the nose at times, but that’s to be expected in a YA novel. I love Zetien and I love the righteous fury, willing-to-do-anything, femme fatale lead. It’s so refreshing to have a female character be so reckless and have the male characters be more submissive. Also,

the triangle is awesome. It’s the strongest shape. 😉 The way the polyamory us approached feels natural and delicious.

It's hard for me to say how someone else would handle these triggers as books don't typically get to me with triggering content. For what Iron Widow covers, it didn't feel overly graphic to me but that is very subjective. I would say this is better suited towards older young adults (16ish and above but that’s just my opinion)

I know this is YA, but I was shocked that there was only swearing at about 134 pages in. I thought I'd be able to get through a whole YA book without it having any swearing. I always find swearing out of place, like a 14-year-old boy allowed to watch "grown-up" media going overboard and playing at being an adult. I've seen similar levels of brutality in lower age audiences without swearing (say, Animorphs of Wings of Fire).
